Lyle Ungar

Lyle Ungar is a Professor of Computer and Information Science at the University of Pennsylvania, with additional faculty appointments in Psychology, Bioengineering, Genomics and Computational Biology, and Operations, Information and Decisions. He is a Distinguished Research Fellow at the Annenberg Public Policy Center. His research develops natural language processing and explainable AI methods for psychological and medical research — including analyzing social media and cell phone sensor data to understand the drivers of physical and mental well-being. He co-directs the World Well-Being Project and is a co-founder of Positive Acuity, and has published over 300 articles supervising more than two dozen PhD students.
