Sunny Rai is a Postdoctoral Research Fellow in the Department of Computer and Information Science at the University of Pennsylvania, working under the mentorship of Drs. Lyle H. Ungar and Sharath C. Guntuku. She holds a Ph.D. from the University of Delhi, India. Her research designs computational methods to process creative constructs in language, acquire socio-cultural world knowledge, and study heterogeneity in large-scale behavioral data — with applications to cultural alignment in AI, demographic bias mitigation in mental health assessment, and AI for public health.
